In an interview with Kurdpress, Heval Isa stated that the Democratic Union Party (PYD) and the current administration in Syrian Kurdistan have never lost contact with the Syrian government. "In fact, the two have been in contact since the beginning of the Syrian crisis. Sometimes, these relations cool down, especially since the United States entered Syria but has not been cut off."
The member of the Central Committee of the Syrian Kurdistan Union Party (PYKS) added the central government has temporarily handed over the Kurdish regions to (PYD) to stay against the Syrian opposition, the Kurdish opposition and any other Syrian protesters.
He continued: "In a situation where the Syrian government is gradually normalizing its relations with some countries and the pressure of the United States and Europe on Damascus is less than before, the Syrian government wants to force them to accept the conditions so that the Syrian army and government forces would return to the Kurdish regions by putting pressure on the PYD."
Asked what is the role of the Kurdish Patriotic Union Council (PYNK) and the Kurdish National Council (ENKS) in this situation, Hawal Isa added: "On the other hand, what is important for us is to pursue Kurdish-national projects in Syrian Kurdistan, not What the PYD is seeking for in the name of a democratic nation and the brotherhood of the peoples, which is against the Kurdish-national project in Syrian Kurdistan."
He added: "Kurdish parties must agree on a Kurdish and national position so that they can negotiate with the government or any other party and demand the rights of the Kurdish people. For this, it is necessary to establish good ties with other Kurds in other regions as well, so that we do not get into conflicts with them."
The committee member noted: "The fact is that the central government should not be trusted. We should neither go to war with them, nor embrace them and surrender our will to them."
He stressed: "For achieving the rights of the Kurds in Syria, it is necessary to increase our relations with powerful world countries, especially with the United States, Russia and Europe, and explain to them our political and peaceful work."
The Syrian Kurdish politician said that Kurdish parties should seek strong lobbying among world powers and influential countries in order to ensure the rights of the Kurdish people.
