PKK has no problem with Kurdistan government, KDP:  Jamil Bayik

The joint chairman of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) Leadership Council called, in a statement, for talks to resolve the problems, saying that the PKK has no problems with the Kurdistan Region governance and the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP).

Commenting on recent developments in the Kurdistan Region and the escalation of tensions with the KDP, Jamil Bayik said: "The KDP sent military forces to Zini Warti, Khakurk and recently Gara and people clearly opposed the move. Both inside and outside, many Kurdish movements have declared their opposition to any escalation and war. Because if there is a war, not only the PKK but all the Kurdish people will be harmed."

"The Kurdish people have been universally respected for all the struggles and sacrifices they have made. No one has the right to endanger this situation. They do not have the right to cause the defeat of the Kurdish people once again. All Kurdish movements and friends of the Kurds have emphasized that the Kurds should not fight each other. They need to negotiate and help each other. Only then the Kurdish people will win," the PKK top official further said.

"The Kurds now know very well what is good and what is bad for them. The Kurds have entered a new phase. As in the past, they no longer depend on only one party. The Kurdish issue is no longer a party issue and it is our problem as well. No party can do whatever it wants to do as in the past. No matter what happens, a Kurdish party should not have ties with Kurdish enemies. All problems and issues must be resolved through dialogue and negotiation," Bayik was quoted as saying by Hawarnews

The PKK leadership council member went on to say that "we are not against the Kurdistan Region governing system or the KDP. We have no problem with Kurdistan governance and the KDP. Contrary to the allegations, we have not occupied any part of the Kurdistan Region. We do not need to do that either. We have no reason for any of this. We fight against the occupation and pay the price in this way. We want to serve our people, to fight the Kurdish enemies. We are the defenders of the Kurdish people."
