Director of Kani Mase sub-district Sarbast Akreyee said there were no casualties in the clashes that took place in Hirure village in the sub-district.
Students evacuated a school in the village due to “fears”, the official told Esta Media Network.
Turkish warplanes also bombed positions belonging to the PKK in the area.
Clashes intermittently erupt between the Turkish forces stationed in Duhok province and the PKK having bases inside the Region.
On Saturday, Turkish fighter jets also bombed suspected PKK positions on the Matin mountain near Amedi, northeast of Duhok.
There were no casualties in the strikes.
Turkey has taken its decades-old conflict with the PKK deep into the Kurdistan Region, establishing military bases and deploying armed military drones against the fighters in their mountain strongholds.
Most of the operations have focused on territory up to 30 km from the border.
