The commission said in a statement the fire started in a judge’s office on the second floor of the building, located on 60 Meter Road in Erbil.

The fire caused damage to the building but no one was injured in the blaze. Firefighter teams were notified and managed to locate and extinguish the fire, according to the commission.

"A committee has been formed to investigate the cause of the fire,” the commission stated.

NRT reported that there were three security teams who were trying to put out the fire.
