On Monday morning, the Turkish forces deployed in Zawiya Mountain targeted a Russian “swan” reconnaissance plane over Saraqib, east of Idlib, with a surface-to-air missile, but the missile exploded near the plane without being able to hit it, according to the same sources.
Over the past 48 hours, Russian warplanes and reconnaissance planes have intensively flown over the Idlib and Aleppo regions in northwest Syria, but no airstrikes were recorded.
