Turkish army build military base in Kurdistan Region

<p style="text-align: left;">Turkish army has built a military base on the top of Mount Del located near the tripartite border of Iraq, Iran, and Turkey, in order to monitor movements of the Kurdistan Workers&amp;rsquo; Party (PKK) in the area.

The military base is located approximately four kilometers from the nearest village, NRT reported.

Villagers said that clashes continue to erupt between the PKK and the Turkish army, which has caused extensive damage to the area.

The military activity has made fear the villagers, many who farm produce or herd livestock, fear for their safety and livelihoods.

&ldquo;We live in extremely bad conditions,&rdquo; a villager told NRT on Monday (September 3). &ldquo;Bombardment and helicopters have continued bombing [the area] since April.&rdquo;

Units of the Turkish army have entered 30 kilometers into the Kurdistan Region and it has also created a number of military bases inside the Region, according to local authorities.
