Stressing that the New Generation is seeking to find a solution to Kurdistan Region financial crisis and solve Peshmerga forces troubles, Maarof told Kurdpress that the most important issue that needs to be taken seriously is the behaviors in Baghdad and Erbil that do not welcome implementing the constitution, particularly the articles that demand solving tensions and troubles in Kurdistan Region.
He further added his party attempts to find a solution to the situation in disputed areas, including the oil-rich Kurdish majority city of Kirkuk, which both Baghdad and Erbil claim jurisdiction over, and called on both sides to respect the constitution in this regard.
The parliament deputy also blamed the Kurdistan Region ruling parties of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) for monopolizing power and preventing from clarifying incomes of the region.
Maarof called for internal and international pressure over Baghdad and Erbil to make them to put the constitution into action and reach a bilateral deal which makes the two sides to respect the constitution.
The deputy further told Kurdpress that the most urgent issue which needs to be solved in Kurdistan Region is the financial trouble in the region as it negatively impacts the lives of the citizens and the next priority are the other problems which the region is grappling with.
Answering a question about the Kurdistan Region share of budget decrease from 17 percent to 12 percent, he stated that the New Generation blames the two governments of Erbil and Baghdad which suffers from a tribal approach to the rights of the Kurds and the region, in return, shuns away from implementing the constitution which obliges the region to elucidate its oil and gas incomes.
