According to the Middle East News Agency, the head of the Al-Wataniya Coalition, emphasized that the leaders of the Sadr movement did not like the resignation of the Sadr Movement's MPs from the parliament, predicting that Muqtada al-Sadr would urge it's followers to protest in the next step.
According to Al-Ma'lomeh News Agency, Eyad Allawi, the head of al-Wataniya Coalition, stressed in a television interview that the leaders of the Sadr movement did not dare to talk to Muqtada al-Sadr about the resignation of the deputies from the parliament.
He said that before resigning, he met with two leaders of the movement and they told him that they had another opinion on the resignation but did not dare to discuss it with Muqtada al-Sadr.
Allawi stressed that the leader of the Sadr faction was frustrated that he had not been able to do anything despite having 73 seats in parliament, and it is likely that his next step will be to take his supporters to street protests.
Allawi added that even after Sadr's resignation, he had a telephone conversation with Hakim al-Zamili, the resigned deputy speaker of the parliament, and that it was clear that zamili did not feel good about the decision.
Allawi stressed that the Iraqi political forces now have no choice but to reach a constructive understanding and dialogue with each other, and that the Sadr movement must be part of this process.
