KDP denies Masoud Barzani sent message to coordination framework

The office of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) Leader Masoud Barzani denied he sent a message to the leaders of the Coordination Framework.

The office of Barzani announced in an statement on Wednesday, July 5, that: "We emphasize that for leader Barzani the names of individuals and parties are unimportant in the political process of Iraq and the formation of the future government and the implementation of the constitution and what is important is the plan of the future government of Iraq and this plan should be based on the three principles of partnership, balance and agreement."

Masoud Barzani's office denied the reports that he sent a message to the leaders of the Coordination Framework and emphasized that these reports are far from reality and are baseless.

Meanwhile, Mowazin News Agency reported earlier that Ghazanfar al-Batikh stated in a television interview that Masoud Barzani has promised support to several "leaders of the Coordination Framework" for prime ministry.

The official added: "The leaders of this framework are aware of the conditions of the current stage and the importance of speeding up the formation of the new government of Iraq, therefore, after solving the issue of the nomination of the Iraqi president by the Kurds, the prime minister of Iraq will be elected.

Pointing out that the Coordination Framework is ready to introduce A candidate for Iraq prime ministry after the Eid al-Adha holiday, Al-Batikh added: The leaders of the Coordination Framework are aware of the size of the conspiracy that has targeted the Iraqi political process.

Emphasizing that the election of Iraq's president of and prime minister will happen simultaneously and with the participation of all political forces, al-Batikh added: "We emphasized on the importance of the Kurdish consensus and proposed to vote for more than one presidential candidate, and Masoud Barzani has "promised support to several leaders of the Coordination Framework for the prime minister post."

Al-Batikh noted that the new Iraqi cabinet will be formed within a week after the vote of confidence in the new Iraqi prime minister.
