Iraqi PM holds constructive discussions in Erbil

The Iraqi Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, mentioned via Twitter that he held constructive discussions in Erbil with the head of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, the President of the Kurdistan region and the Prime Minister of Kurdistan.

“We found positive interaction with our steps in implementing our government program, and we have also sensed a serious desire to work together to achieve the aspirations of our people everywhere,” Al-Sudani was qouted by Iraqi News as saying .
During his meeting with the President of Kurdistan region Nechirvan Barzani, Al-Sudani stressed that the government is moving towards building confidence between all Iraqis, and that all problems can be solved if there is a real will.
Barzani thanked the government for adopting a draft law transforming Halabja into a governorate, stressing the regional government’s support for the reforms of the federal government.
Al-Sudani also emphasized the necessity of replacing the standing issues between Baghdad and Erbil with partnerships that enhance cooperation and development.
In another meeting with the Prime Minister of Kurdistan regional Masrour Barzani, Al-Sudani confirmed that the government has the will and serious desire to radically end the issues between Baghdad and Erbil.
Al-Sudani also stressed the need to move to a broad horizon of joint action and economic opportunities, which benefits the people in Kurdistan and in all Iraqi governorates.
Kurdistan’s Prime Minister indicated that his government is keen to continue discussions with the federal government, and to address the controversial points, appreciating the Cabinet’s decision transforming the city of Halabja into a governorate.
