Iyad Allawi says offered solution to Barzani over Kirkuk

<p style="text-align: left;">The head of Iraqi al-Watanayeh Coalition Iyad Allawi stated he has offered a solution to Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) Leader Masoud Barzani over the situation in the disputed province of Kirkuk.

Allawi, former Iraqi Vice President, told Kurdistan 24 that the Article 140 has to be fulfilled through the formation of a committee of leaders from all political sides, adding that he has offered a suggestion to Barzani and the KDP leader has welcomed the solution.

There is no security in the region and terror will endanger the people more than ever if the problems remained unsolved.

Meanwhile Kirkuk legal Governor Najmaddin Karim told Kurdistan 24 about that offer by Baghdad that the Kurdistan conditions for normalization of the situation in Kirkuk have to be studied before any suggestion is put into action.

Kurdish forces of Peshmerga took control of Kirkuk after the IS terrorist group took a large part of Iraq but the Kurdish forces withdraw from the region and other disputed region after clashes with forces from Baghdad in October 16, 2017. Since then Kirkuk has been under the control of Iraqi forces and there are no Peshmerga forces in the province.
