Syrian Kurdish parties suspend talks

According to unconfirmed reports, the Syrian Kurdish alliance talks between the Kurdistan National Council of Syria (ENKS) and the Patriotic Union Parties (PYNK) have been suspended.

An informed source in Syrian Kurdistan, who liked to remain unknown, claimed in an interview with BasNews that the Syrian Kurdish talks between the ENKS and the PYNK had been suspended.

According to the BasNews Agency, the source, who called it "credible", said the reason for the suspension of the talks between the Kurds was because the responsibility period of Zahra Bill, the US representative as the mediator in the talks, has ended.

According to the informed source "negotiations between the two sides are at a stage where it is not possible to reach an agreement without the mediation and presence of the United States, and there are 5 topics in these negotiations that urgently need the presence of the United States.

"Relations between the PKK and the Autonomous Administration of Northern and Eastern Syria, changes in social agreements, the status of the Roj Peshmerga forces, the status of military service and training issues are among the issues to be discussed at this stage of the talks," the source added.
