Yawar said the forces of Iraqi army, Hashd Shaabi, Federal police and local forces are in Kirkuk and all Kirkuk region are under the control of federal forces.
Yawar also said the ministry would study the formation of a joint operation room and cooperation center between Peshmerga and Iraqi forces after Iraqi defense ministry makes the demand officially, denying the Iraqi ministry has made such a demand.
He further underscored in the interview with Kurdpress that there is no official relation between Peshmerga and Iraqi defense ministries.
The Peshmerga official also stated that three meetings were held, in late October 2017 and November 2018 in Mosul, between Erbil and Baghdad after October 16 developments but the two sides failed to reach any deal.
Answering a question about security threats in Kirkuk and instabilities in the province, Yawar confirmed there are threats and warned the IS threat is still immenent as there are IS threats in villages in northern Iraq.
He denied that IS could pose any threats to cities in Iraq but warned it is a danger for civilians and conducting terrorist attacks and bombings.
