Mazlum Kobani, commander-in-chief of the SDF, expressed hope for the success of the Syrian Kurdish unity talks and called on the Kurds to be ready for the next phase of the negotiations.

Kobani wrote on Twitter: "Our goal is to succeed in the dialogue between the Syrian Kurdish Patriotic Council [ENKS] and the Kurdish Patriotic Union parties [PYNK]. The agreements we have reached are very important and will protect the interests of our people."

"It is everyone's duty to prepare for the next stage of unity, so that we can see a new stage in the coming days," he added.

Negotiations for an alliance between the two dominant Syrian Kurdish movements began at the suggestion and mediation of the United States and with the support of the Mazlum Kobani.
