Iraq will send employees’ salaries to Kurdistan Region: Nechirvan Barzani

<p style="text-align: left;">Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani said on Tuesday, April 17, that the Iraqi central government in Baghdad is committed to sending the amount dedicated to the Kurdistan Region monthly.

Iraqi government provided the Kurdistan Region with over 317 billion Iraqi dinars (($267 million) to pay salaries of public servants from the KRG ministries including the Peshmerga ministry.

According to NRT Barzani held a press conference on Tuesday, saying the central government is abided by sending the amount of money for the salaries of the region’s public servants.

Regarding a delegation said to visit Baghdad, Barzani said there was no plan to send a Kurdish delegation to Iraq’s capital.

“I have just heard it from media. There is no such thing between us and Baghdad to send a delegation to Baghdad,” he added.

Talks, however, will continue between the Kurdistan Region and Baghdad in all the fields, he said.
