9 Turkish soldiers killed in clashes with PKK

<p style="text-align: left;">At least nine Turkish soldiers were killed in an attack by Kurdistan Workers&amp;rsquo; Party (PKK)-affiliated fighters in the Kurdistan Region, Firat News Agency reported.

People&rsquo;s Defense Forces (HPG) said that its fighters carried out an attack against Turkish soldiers deployed to Hill Lelikan in the Bradost region at 05:30 p.m. on Monday, according to the agency.

Local sources said Turkish fighter jets launched airstrikes in the area following the HPG attack, Firat News Agency reported.

The Turkish military has yet to comment on the attacks.

HPG has recently increased attacks on the units of the Turkish army which have been stationed inside the Kurdistan Region.

The Turkish army has entered 19 kilometers into the Kurdistan Region, local authorities said. Turkish military has also created three main headquarters and up to 14 small military bases inside the region.
