<p style="text-align: left;">All Iraqi political parties should respect the results of the parliamentary election, Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi said on Monday, May 14, expressing his commitment to defending the country's unity and sovereignty until a new government is formed.

"We have worked to ensure that the current government is free of sectarian discord and corruption," the PM said in a televised address.
Abadi also called on political parties to ensure the stability of Iraq and consider it more important than other gains.
"We will bear the responsibility to lead and protect the country in accordance with the constitution," he said, stressing that he is ready to work and cooperate to form the most powerful Iraqi government.
Abadi on Sunday (May 13) called on the electoral commission to investigate ballot boxes which complaints have been filed against.
