Sulaymaniya airport said in a statement that it has received a schedule from the Iranian Mahan Airlines to restart flights between the two ports, BasNews reported.
This flight will be the first one to the Kurdish governorate after several months of a ban on the airports in the Kurdistan Region in retaliation to an independence referendum held by the region in September, last year.
Even though Iraqi PM Haider al-Abadi issued a decree to lift the international flight ban on the Kurdistan Region airports in March, some neighboring countries refused to resume flights to Sulaimani due to certain political disputes.
