Adnan Osman told Kurdpress in an interview that Gorran is not seeking to call itself an opposition movement and participate in the regional government but it plans to be an active partner in the government of the region, stressing that Gorran will do its best to achieve its goals and put its plans into action.

Osman told Kurdpress that Gorran is the only party in the region which elects its leader based on its statute and every two years in 2017 and 2019, adding that the ways has been gone and respected even after the death of the revered leader of the movement Nawshirwan Mustafa.

He accepted that the seats of the movement have decreased in both Kurdistan Region and Iraq parliaments but called the decrease a threat and warning to democracy as the incident happened for all political parties in the region and the situation has worried the people of the region, reiterating that the movement looks at the event as chance and opportunity and also a necessity to review its policies, manifesto, mottos and finally turning into a majority party which represents all groups, notions and thoughts.

Answering a question about the movement’s decision to join the new government of the Kurdistan Region, Osman told Kurdpress that the 9^th cabinet of the region was formed based on reformed plans and changes and they are of great importance for Gorran and also the movement wants to see a powerful government in the region which is capable of responding to the demands of the people of the region and making fundamental changes
