3 Russian soldiers wounded in bomb blast in Kobani

<p style="text-align: left;">Three members of the Russian military were wounded after a device exploded near a military police vehicle in the Syria northeastern Kurdish town of Kobani on Monday, December 2.

NRT reported that the blast occurred in Dafa Maghari village near Kobani and that the wounded were transferred by a Russian convoy to a medical base.

Two of the injuries were reportedly critical, according Goran. State-owned RIA news agency cited Russia&rsquo;s Defense Ministry as saying it did not believe the lives of the injured servicemen were in danger.

Russia deployed its troops to the area around Kobani in October after Turkey launched an incursion against Kurdish fighters in northeastern Syria.

Turkey began a cross-border offensive against the Kurds in Syria in October after Trump announced the withdrawal of US troops from the area. At one point around 300,000 people fled their homes and 100,000 remain displaced, according to the UN.
