Senator says U.S. should protect Kurds

<p style="text-align: left;">A U.S. republican senator has stated that his country should not withdraw its forces from Syria and stressed Washington should protect Kurds in the country.

Speaking to CBS TV two weeks after his visit to Syria Kurdish regions, Senator Lindsy Graham underlined that the U.S. should keep its forces in Syria.

He reiterated that Washington should back the Kurds that helped defeating the Islamic State (IS), adding that Kurds helped preventing the division of the region and made the return of the IS in Syria and Iraq impossible.

Graham further added that U.S. President Donald Trump would not leave the Kurdish allies alone and would not let threatening elements to control the region.
