Field sources in Syrian Kurdistan told KurdPress that US troops are building a new military base in the border triangle of Iraq, Syria and Turkey to prevent a possible Turkish invasion or the presence of Russian and Syrian troops in the region.

The sources said that in addition to sending logistical and military equipment to the village of Ain al-Diwar, the Americans also sent trucks containing construction materials to the village.

According to these sources, by the move the US is seeking to prevent the infiltration of Syrian and Russian troops into this strategic region.

Last Saturday, Americans moved dozens of trucks carrying military equipment and construction materials from the Al-Waleed border crossing in Iraq, east of Qamishli, to the village of Ain al-Diwar.

The sources stressed that the US military had told the villagers that their goal was to prevent any attack on the area.
