PYD does not believe in unity, official tells KurdPress

A member of the Syrian Kurdish National Council (ENKS) stated that the Democratic Union Party (PYD) is seeking to deceive public opinion in the name of negotiation.

Speaking to KurdPress about the remarks made a few days ago by Mazlum Kobani, Commander-in-Chief of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), regarding the return of Roj Peshmerga forces to Syrian Kurdistan under the Duhok agreement, Dr. Tariq Khairki, Deputy Chairman of the Syrian Kurdistani Freedom Movement (SAK), said: "Any action that leads into unity is commendable, but on earth, the powerful side does not believe in unity, and these statements are just media propaganda, and we still see the PYD is violating the rights of citizens in Syrian Kurdistan."

He continued as saying that: "As the Kurdistani Freedom Movement, we welcome any move in this regard, but we know that the other side does not believe in unity."

"The other side seeks to deceive public opinion with soft statements, while the events that are taking place in Shingal and the Kurdistan region will lead into the end of negotiations between the two sides of the peace negotiations between the ENKS and Kurdish Patriotic Union Parties (PYNK)," Dr. Khairaki further said.
