"Syrian Kurdistan is not in a good condition today. The world powers and the countries of the region have brought their war to Syria and have occupied Syria today ," Hussein Mosto, a member of the political bureau of the Syrian Kurdish Democratic Party (Al-Parti), told KurdPress, referring to Turkey's move to reduce the Euphrates River water from running into Syria.
He added: "Meanwhile, Turkey is the enemy of the Kurds and has pursued the dirtiest policies towards Syrian Kurdistan. Under the pretext of fighting the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), it is launching a new war against the Kurds in Syria every day and the Syrian government is working with Turkey in this regard."
"Turkey is one of the worst enemies of the Kurdish people and this is not the first time it has closed its water to our people. This behavior has not been seen even by Israel against Syria and Palestine, but Turkey is taking this inhuman action," Mr. Mosto further told KurdPress.
Hussein Mosto noted that: "Today, the United States and Russia are pursuing their own interests in Syria, and the Syrian government is seeking to hold the presidential elections and re-electing [Syrian President Bashar] Assad, and wants to establish relations with the Democratic Union Party (PYD) in this way, which is difficult and unclear move. That is why the Kurds must look for a new way to get united."
He continued: "In these circumstances, it is necessary for the various parties and all independent Kurdish intellectual movements in Syria to unite and stand against these enemies, so that no more damage is inflicted on this region."
"Today, the United States seeks reconciliation among the Kurds in Syria and will certainly sees its interests in this unity, but it is necessary for the Kurds to reach a consensus and have unity during the Kurdish-Kurdish negotiations," the politician noted.
