Barzani expressed his gratitude to France for the assistance it had provided to the Sinjar area, as it still struggles to recover, according to a statement.
According to NRT he also stressed that the dialogue between Erbil and Baghdad and the attempts to solve their ongoing disagreements would continue, in particular with regard to combating IS, adding that he hoped a mechanism could be devised to allow coalition troops to stay in Iraq.
In terms of the ongoing political upheaval in Baghdad, Barzani said that the Kurdistan Region would cooperate with any prime ministerial candidate, if they have the backing of both the political parties and the demonstrators.
The two also discussed the ways to enhance bilateral relations between the Kurdistan Region and France.
