In a message posted on the official website of the KRG, Barzani congratulated the people of the Kurdish region and praised the efforts of those involved in the fight against the outbreak of the coronavirus, and called on the people of the region to stay in their homes and to avoid the spread of the disease and to follow health instructions.

The president of the Kurdish region announced that region should maintain reconciliation and cooperation in order to deal with the situation of the coronavirus disease and its consequences, as well as the political developments in Iraq, the reconciliation and cooperation among parties and political blocs, and that everyone must act on the basis of national responsibility and the best interests of the region and the presidency of the region continues to work to achieve this goal.

Barzani stressed that the region, as always, is working to solve the problems and crises in Iraq and create stability and political reconciliation in the country, adding that he supports a government in Baghdad that fulfills the demands of the people and the Iraqi spectrum and preserves the legal rights of the autonomous region.

He noted that the world is in a difficult situation, stressing the need for understanding, cooperation and international co-operation, and called on international and regional organizations for playing their role in reducing the damage and harm in the situation, and said that the region will co-operate in this regard.
