World Desk – The German government has decided to close its military camp near the airport in Erbil—the capital of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq—by the end of September and withdraw the bulk of its troops from the area; however, a small group of military advisors will remain in the region to continue cooperation with and training of Kurdish Peshmerga forces.
