World Service - The reopening of the Al-Yarubiyeh-Rabiah border crossing between Syria and Iraq after more than a decade of closure has increased the hopes for the revival of trade and the strengthening of economic cooperation between the two countries. This route can become an important corridor for the transfer of goods, fuel and even the export of Iraqi oil, although infrastructural, banking and political problems are still among the most important obstacles.
