Turkey, Russia, Iran to hold summit in Tehran early next year

The political leaders of Turkey, Russia and Iran will hold a summit meeting in Tehran early next year, Ali Asghar Khaji, the senior assistant for special political affairs to Iran's foreign minister, told Russia’s TASS news agency on Wednesday.

“It will depend on the pandemic situation. But in general we have agreed to hold the summit. Most likely, we will be able to hold it in February or March," the Iranian diplomat said, according to TASS.

The summit will be preceded by a meeting of the country’s foreign ministers in January or early February, Khaji said.

A next international Astana meeting on Syria involving the three countries will be convened several weeks after the summit, he said.
