Cemil Bayik, co-chair of the Executive Council of the Kurdistan Communities Union (KCK), referred to "the cooperation between Turkey, NATO and the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG)," and said that "the aim of the recent war was to transfer gas from the Middle East through Iraqi Kurdistan and Turkey to Europe."
Speaking to Star TV, Bayik described Turkey's recent war against Iraqi Kurdistan as a continuation of previous genocides against the Kurds, and said that Turkey's goal was not only to eliminate the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) and the Kurds, but also to take control of the entire Middle East.
Referring to the role of NATO and the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) in the war, he told Sterk TV that "the war is set to spread to all parts of Kurdistan and other parts of the Middle East."
"Those who seek to achieve their goals in the Middle East must first achieve what they want in Kurdistan, because Kurdistan is the 'heart of the Middle East,'" he said.
"They [Turkey, NATO and Europe] want to replace the Middle East natural gas route with gas going to Europe via Russia because of the war between Russia and Ukraine," Bayik said, referring to the war in Ukraine. "This natural gas line also goes through Kurdistan. Their goal in starting a war is to control this path to achieve their goals and interests. They think they can easily transfer natural gas from Kurdistan to Europe by eliminating the PKK and silencing the Kurds."
"The Turkish government and the KDP that cooperates with, as well as NATO, the United States, Britain, Germany and Israel, must know that all their efforts to break the will of the Kurds will be in vain," Bayik added. "We will expand our struggle for the victory of the Kurds and for the victory of all the people in the Middle East. We will pay for this victory."
