Rezgar Haji, the head of electoral affairs of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), told VOA that the party had set conditions for holding and participating in the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) parliamentary elections, including preparing a list of the KRG voters.

On the other hand, Khasrew Goran, the head of electoral affairs of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, stated in this regard that no party in the region can decide unilaterally whether or not to hold elections and impose its views on the elections.

Aram Jamal, a legal expert and member of the Region Electoral Research Institute, stressed that the reform of the Region's electoral law is a necessary for holding a healthy and fair election, and that a new law should be drafted for the sixth round of Kurdistan parliamentary elections.

He also stated that the current situation for holding the elections is full of crises and psychological warfare, and doubts and mistrust, especially between the PUK and the KDP, and in this situation not only the problems are not solved but also the region would likely split and have more crises.
