The Ministry said in a statement that Schlumberger, Baker Hughes and Halliburton oil companies informed the Iraqi Oil Ministry they will not begin any new projects and will close their contracts with the KRG.

The ministry’s statement comes after a court in al-Karkh, Baghdad, issued a decision on Monday over four oil companies operating in the Kurdistan Region, a source who attended the proceedings said.
The court’s decision involved four companies: DNO, Genel Energy, HKN Energy, and Western Zagros, according to the source, who said the ruling was delayed for three other companies.
These three other companies, that saw a verdict postponed for six to 17 months, were Addax Petroleum, Gulf Keystone Petroleum, and ShaMaran Petroleum Corp.
