Under the terms of the proposal, parties who has taken control of the government after the year 2003 would not participate in early elections.

The statement from the Sadrist Movement's figure Salih Mohammed al-Iraqi insisted the exclusion of these individuals and parties was more important than the dissolution of parliament.

His exclusion of all post-2003 parties, leaders and commanders would also apply to the Sadrist Movement, NRT reported.

Mohammed announced the movement was ready to sign such an agreement if it is offered within the next 72 hours.
