Iran FM Javad Zarif visits Baghdad

<p style="text-align: left;">Heading a high-ranking politico-economic delegation, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif left Tehran for Baghdad on Sunday.

Senior managers of several Iranian state and private sector companies are accompanying Zarif in this trip, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qasemi said.

Holding talks with high-ranking Iraqi officials, taking part in Iran-Iraq joint trade conference in Karbala and Sulaimani are also on Zarif's itinerary, IRNA reported.

The Iranian FM is planned to travel to the Kurdish autonomous region in the north on Tuesday.

Accrodiung to a foreign ministry statement Zarif will meet Iraqi Prime Minister Adil Abdul Mahdi and Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbusi on Monday and then would participate an economic seminar in the Baghdad where he would address the seminar.

The FM would also hold a meeting with President Barham Slaih on the same day and then would visit the Kurdish region on Tuesday and would take part in the second Iranian, Kurdistani businessman economic seminar in Sulaimani.
