The two sides met on Tuesday in Erbil and discussed ties between the region and France, Rudaw reported.
French envoy to Baghdad and the country’s consul in Erbil attended the meeting, the report said.
Boosting ties between the Kurdistan Region and France and the role of Paris in the post-IS period in the region and reconstructing the liberated regions from the IS control were the main topics that were discussed in the meeting.
Le Darian arrived in the region later Monday January 14 and was welcomed by Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani.
Before his meeting with Masoud Barzani, Le Darian met Kurdistan Region Intelligence and Security Head Masrour Barzani.
Masrour Barzani and the French FM traded view on the latest developments in the region and Iraq as well as attempts for the formation of the new government in the Kurdish region.
Le Darian has reportedly stressed on continuing France support for the region and stated that Paris welcomes boosting ties between the region and the central Iraqi government in Baghdad.
