During the same period, the total expenditures of the Ministry of Finance exceeded 57,186 billion dinars, of which 96 percent went to current expenditures and 4 percent to investment expenditures.

    Iraq and Kurdistan Region Service - According to statistics from the Iraqi Ministry of Finance, the country's revenues in the first five months of 2026 decreased by 12.41 trillion dinars (about 27 percent) compared to the same period last year, from 46.1 trillion to 33.7 trillion dinars. While government spending remained almost unchanged, the budget deficit increased to about 13 trillion dinars, which is about 15 times more than the same period in 2025.
