During the meeting between Sheikh Jangi and Abadi the two sides addressed the current political situation of Iraq, and had a common vision on how to deal with all the internal and external conspiracies facing the Kurdistan Region and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan.

In the meeting which was attended by Rizgar Ali, PUK Politburo executive body member, Dr. Soran Jamal Taher, PUK Politburo member and Head of Relations Bureau, and Ala Talabani, Head of PUK faction in Iraqi Council of Representatives, the latest political, economic, and security developments in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, and the upcoming elections were discussed, PUK Media reported.

Sheikh Jangi stressed the importance of efforts by the Kurdish and Iraqi parties and constructive dialogue to reach common visions to solve the outstanding problems, contain challenges, and unify the national ranks on all sensitive and crucial issues that would reduce the problems and differences and maintain security and stability for all citizens of Iraq and Kurdistan Region.

Referring to the outstanding problems between the Kurdistan Regional Government and the Federal Government, Sheikh Jangi emphasized the position of PUK to continue talks and resort to the constitution and commitment to bilateral agreements to solve the outstanding problems and secure the financial shares of the Kurdistan Region and the salaries of civil servants.

Moreover, the upcoming elections for the Iraqi parliament were discussed. The two sides stressed on free and fair elections to guarantee the success of the process and the implementation of reforms in the country.

Meanwhile Bafil Talabani welcomed Abadi, at the PUK's headquarter in Slemani.

The meeting focused on discussing the political developments in the Kurdistan Region, Iraq and the region and discussed the pre-election of the Iraqi Council of Representatives.

The two sides emphasized on providing a suitable environment for a clean and fair election that would lead to political stability and the consent of all parties

Bafil Talabani expressed the PUK's clear roadmap and national strategy for all different equations and reaffirmed the unification of different powers and opinions to overcome the challenges and reach a root solution to the problems between the Kurdistan Region and Iraq.

Concerning the Kurdistan region, he said: "We want to unify the Kurdish house and have common visions regarding the files, and to work together to bring the Kurdistan region to safety and stability, and for this we need the support of our brothers and friends in the Shiite and Sunni forces and all other forces and parties and to build an institutional country with them and work to revive the spirit of harmony and coexistence, and this is the policy pursued by the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan."
