In a televised statement, Russian Ambassador to Baghdad Maksim Maksimov said his country opposes the language of American threats against Iraq after a decision by the Council of Representatives to make foreign troops to leave the country, Al-Maalomeh news website reported.

Makimov said that the army forces, Hadad al-Shaabi, and counter-terrorism have the capability to defend Iraq, and the armed forces have gained military experience after they achieved victory against armed groups.

The Russian ambassador in Baghdad added that his country would accept the language of blackmail and threats against Iraq, which the United States has adopted since the beginning of this year and is not ready to accept the status of the Iraqi government and parliament.

Makimov pointed out that Moscow is working to develop and activate the Russian, Iranian, Iraqi, and Syrian Quartet Center to combat terrorism in order to support Iraq in brining an end to criminal gangs in Syria and Iraq.
