UK will continue support for Iraqi army: statement

<p style="text-align: left;">The UK Chief of the Defense Staff and head of the British Armed Forces, Gen. Nicholas Carter, stressed that Britain would continue to support the Iraqi army in all fields.

In a phone call with Iraqi Chief of Joint Staff, Lt. Gen. Abdul Amir Rasheed Yarallah, Gen. Carter and the Iraqi commander discussed important issues, including the military cooperation between the two countries in all fields, the Iraqi Defense Ministry said a statement.

In the call, Maj. Gen. Yarallah praised Britain's crucial role as the second largest country in the international anti-IS coalition in supporting the Iraqi army in its fight against the remaining IS elements in the country.

On the other hand, the British military official confirmed his country's continued support for the Iraqi army in all fields and praised the ability and courage of the Iraqi forces to achieve victory over terrorism.
