KDP-S condemns attack on offices, says PYD is not committed to talks

<p style="text-align:left">A member of the Kurdistan Democratic Party of Syria (KDP-S) denounced the recent attacks on the offices of the party in Qamishli in Syria Kurdistan and stated that the pro-Kurdish Democratic Union Party (PYD) is not committed to the negotiations between the two sides.

"We condemn any threats of assassination, torture and terror, and believe that these actions do not serve humanity or the Kurdish people," Moslem Muhammad told KurdPress in an interview.
Referring to what happened nights ago at the party's office in the city of Qamishli, the capital of the Syrian Kurdistan's self-ruling region, he told KurdPress two days ago that: "Last night, some members of the Revolutionary Youth, affiliated with the PYD, set fire on an office of the Democratic Union Party of Syria (PDK.S). This behavior is not new. For nearly nine years now, this group has been taking such actions and always causing the failure of any kind of negotiation. By burning offices and arresting and torturing and killing our members, no progress can be made."
He added: "As the Kurdistan National Council (ENKS), we have formed a coalition with the Democratic Union Party with the mediation of Massoud Barzani (the KDP leader in Iraqi Kurdistan), but they are blocking any negotiations by inciting a group, or by burning down offices, or by attacking our members."
Referring to the party's reaction to this action, Muhammad, also a member of the political committee of the PDK.S, said: "We, as the Kurdistan Democratic Party and the ENKS, follow the same culture and mentality of dialogue and reconciliation in the direction of dialogue and negotiation. We believe in this culture and this is our culture.
Muslim Mohammad added: "Now the United States, as a third party in monitoring the negotiations, must witness the behavior of the other side, and we also ask the Kurdish people to see how the other side repeats its history of disrupting unity and dialogue."
He noted: "We believe in the culture of dialogue and negotiation. We have been formed on this basis and will remain on the same ideology."
In the end, he concluded: "We condemn any assassination, torture and and terror, and believe that these actions do not serve humanity or the Kurdish nation."
