Mustafa al-Kadhimi, Nechirvan Barzani agree on dialogue, referring to constitution to solve tensions

<p style="text-align: left;">Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Kadhimi met with Kurdistan Regional Government President Nechirvan Barzani in Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan Region where the two sides stressed on the importance of mutual dialogue and referring to the constitution to resolve all tensions between Erbil and Baghdad.

According to the information base of the Iraqi Prime Minister's Office, the two sides discussed the situation in Iraq and the most important current issues in the country during the meeting on Friday, September 11.

The Iraqi PM and the Kurdish president also discussed common issues between the federal government and the Kurdistan Region, and stressed the importance of unity and taking a common stance towards the current challenges in Iraq.

During the meeting, the two sides agreed on the importance of continuing dialogues and making the constitution a reference to resolve all issues and improve the situation in order to serve all Iraqi citizens.

During the meeting, al-Kadhimi and Barzani also stressed the need for continued security coordination within the Iraqi Armed Forces, with the aim of preventing any terrorist operations by the remnants of the ISIS terrorist group and ensuring security in the country and the return of all displaced people to their homes.
