Kurdish parties to decide on Iraq presidency post - source

A Kurdish political source announced an upcoming meeting between the leaders of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) and the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) in the coming days to discuss important issues.

According to al-Musalameh new agency, the meeting is scheduled to address the issue of paving the way for the upcoming parliamentary elections and the need to avoid tensions in the campaign and election sessions, preventing from campaigning against each other and deciding the presidency and other Kurdish posts in the Iraqi central government.

The source noted that the meeting will discuss the unity of the Kurdish position in Baghdad, especially on issues of public concern in the Kurdistan Region, including the budget and salaries of employees.
