Iraq will be bankrupted soon: MP

<p style="text-align:left">A member of the Kurdistan Islamic Community faction in the Iraqi parliament stressed: "If the current government borrowing law is passed, Iraq will be on the verge of bankruptcy."

According to Ain al-Iraq News, Ahmad Mohammad Rashid, referred to the failure of Mustafa al-Kadhimi's government in drafting the 2020 budget law and said: "If the government approves a loan plan of 41 billion dinars in parliament, the country will face an economic catastrophe."
The Kurdish member of the Iraqi parliament added: "The economic reforms proposed by the government are old and its contents are the clauses that have already been announced by the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank."
"The government has failed to implement the reforms presented to the parliament and is trying to put the burden of its responsibilities onto employees and citizens," he concluded.
