Nechirvan Barzani to visit Baghdad to sign comprehensive oil deal with central government

<p dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">A senior member of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (Party) stressed that Kurdistan Regional Government President Nachirvan Barzani will travel to Baghdad on Tuesday, December 15, to sign a comprehensive oil agreement between the federal government and the regional government.

According to Middle East News: Rabin Salam, a senior member of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, emphasized that Nechirvan Barzani, the head of the Kurdistan Regional Government, will travel to Baghdad tomorrow to sign a comprehensive oil agreement between the federal government and the local regional government in Erbil.
In an interview with Baghdad Al-Youm News Agency, the senior member of the KDP stated: Barzani will travel to Baghdad tomorrow to sign a comprehensive agreement with the federal government. The agreement stipulates the delivery of 460,000 barrels of oil per day to Baghdad in exchange for sending the region's share of the budget and full salaries of Peshmerga personnel and forces.
In this regard, Saeed Memo Zini, a leader of the KDP, had previously accused Shiite political factions of taking advantage of the current situation of the Kurdistan Region to impose unenforceable conditions on the Kurdish negotiating team in Baghdad to prevent a deal from being reached.
The KRG delegation, which has been in Baghdad for several days, met yesterday with Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi and Iraqi Parliament Speaker Mohammed al-Halbousi to discuss the Baghdad-Erbil agreement on the region's share of the budget.
The Kurdish delegation, headed by Qubad Talabani, Deputy Prime Minister of the KRG, met on Sunday with Iraqi Finance and Petroleum Ministers in the presence of the CEO of Sumo Oil Marketing Company to determine the amount of oil exported from the region and determine non-oil revenues to implement the deficit budget law approved by the Iraqi parliament.
