Karkh Court Acquitted Abbas Yaqoubi of All Charges

Iraq and Kurdistan Region Service - Al-Ahd Channel affiliated with Asaib Ahl al-Haq announced that the Karkh Court has acquitted and released Abbas Yaqoubi, the intelligence officer for the Baghdad Belt operation in the Popular Mobilization Forces, of all charges.

According to Kurdistan Press, citing Iraqi sources, Yaqoubi was handed over to the Popular Mobilization Forces after being arrested at his home in Dhi Qar province by Iraqi counter-terrorism forces with the intervention of a number of political leaders. It is said that he was released just an hour after being handed over to the Popular Mobilization Forces and returned to his place of work.

So far, official Iraqi institutions have not announced the charges brought against Yaqoubi. He is a well-known commander of the Nujaba group within the Popular Mobilization Forces.The Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper also reported in its current issue that Yaqoubi commanded a network for transporting drones and missiles from Iran to Iraq, weapons that have recently been used to attack countries in the region.
