New US Deputy Envoy meets SDC envoy in Washington

The new US Deputy envoy to Syria affairs met in Washington with a member of the Syrian Democratic Council (SDC).

Matthew Pearl, the new US Deputy Envoy, and David Bronstein spoke with the representative of the Syrian Democratic Council (SDC) in Washington on Friday about developments in Syria.
This is the first meeting of the new US deputy and the beginning of his work in the US State Department team on the Syrian issue. Pearl replaces David Bronstein, who took office in November 2020.
Sinem Mohammed, the representative of the Syrian Democratic Council in Washington, and Bassam Ishaq, a member of the Syrian Democratic Council in the United States, were welcomed by the new US envoy to envoy.
Pearl spoke with the SDC representative about developments in the Syria and issues related to the fight against terrorism and stabilization in northeastern Syria.
The meeting discussed Turkey's threats and the obstacles it has made in resolving the "Syrian crisis" through its continued control of large parts of northern Syria and its support for opposition factions. They also discussed the region's economic situation and Washington's efforts to achieve economic development and stability in the liberated areas of northeastern Syria.
