Hamed Soleimanzadeh Joins 72nd Berlinale FIPRESCI Jury

Officially invited by the 72nd Berlinale and the International Federation of Film Critics (FIPRESCI), the international cinema critic and professor will join the FIPRESCI award jury.

Hamed Soleimanzadeh, researcher, critic, and international professor of Iranian cinema has experienced the jury panel in France’s 74th Cannes Film Festival, 2021, and he will join two prominent world cinema critics Alexander Zwart from the Netherlands, and Bettina Hirsch from Germany to judge the Forum section films in the 72nd Berlinale.
The Forum section is one of the most significant competition categories in Belinale, seeking an understanding of cinema’s identity, innovative experiences, as well as introducing fresh perspectives in both form and content of movies.
Soleimanzadeh is the only Iranian movie critic who has been a member of the jury in three important world cinema festivals; Sweden’s Göteborg, France’s Cannes, and Germany’s Berlinale.
Presided by Mariette Rissenbeek with artistic management by Carlo Chatrian, the 72nd Berlinale will be held from 10-20 February, 2022, consisting of competition sections such as Main Competition, Forum, Shorts, Documentary, and the non-competition category including Panorama, Special Screening, Berlin 2022 Generation, and Classic Cinema Screening.
