Speaking to the Iraqi National News Agency (Nina) on Sunday, April 10, Osman noted the difficulty of approving the Iraqi presidential candidate in the House of Representatives due to the current political stalemate in the country, adding: "Each of the political parties in Iraq adheres to its positions." Therefore, this political stalemate, given that some parties have armed branches, has dire consequences and may lead to armed conflict between the parties.
Regarding the deal between the two Kurdish parties of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) and the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), on a single candidate for the Iraqi presidency, Osman said: "So far, there has been no sign of such an agreement between the two parties, and both parties are committed to their candidate."
