Turkish and Iraqi defense ministers meet in Ankara

Turkish and Iraqi defense ministers met in Ankara to discuss regional issues and co-operation between the two countries in the fight against terrorism.

According to the Anadolu News Agency, the Turkish Ministry of Defense issued a statement saying: "Hulusi Akar met with his Iraqi counterpart Anad Saadoun and his accompanying delegation in Ankara on Friday."

According to the statement, the focus of the meeting between the Turkish and Iraqi defense ministers was to discuss regional issues, bilateral affairs, and particularly the fight against terrorism.

"Ankara respects the political unity and territorial integrity of all neighboring countries, especially Iraq," Akar said during the meeting.

The Turkish Defense Minister also expressed satisfaction with the cooperation established with the Iraqi government in the fight against terrorism and stressed on the importance of its continuation.
