Kurds negotiation with Damascus means US withdrawal, British diplomat says

<p style="text-align: left;">Former Britain Ambassador to Syria believes the U.S. role in Syria is dwindling as Syrian Kurds are in negotiation with the central government in Damascus.

Kurds in Syria have held four rounds of talks with Damascus in the past two weeks over the fate of a quarter of Syria that is under the control of Kurdish forces.

Peter Ford, Britain Ambassador to Damascus from 2003 to 2006, believes Kurds worries over the U.S. withdrawal from Syria, the U.S. indifference to the project of government formation by the Kurds, more Turkey threats, and Kurds losing their control of some regions, particularly Arab-dominated areas, have urged Kurds to sit at negotiation table with Damascus.

Writing an article in The Wall Will Fall website, he added that Kurds keenness to negotiation with Damascus means en end to US indirect control of the 30 percent of Syria.
